Gary Berntsen served for 23 years in the Clandestine Service of the Central Intelligence Agency. He served as a CIA Chief of Station during three separate assignments in the Middle East and Latin America. Mr. Berntsen also led CIA’s major counterterrorist deployments in East Africa following the attacks on the U.S. Embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam and led CIA’s largest paramilitary team during the 2001 liberation of Afghanistan.
Mr. Berntsen was awarded CIA’s Distinguished Intelligence Medal and Intelligence Star. He is also the recipient of the first William F. Buckley award for leadership in Intelligence. Mr. Berntsen is the author of the bestselling book “Jawbreaker” - The Attack on Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda: A Personal Account By The CIA’s Key Field Commander.
During 2005/2006, Gary Berntsen appeared many times on various news shows, including FOX’s Hardball with Chris Matthews and CNN’s Live From. However, the Berntsen Group had no dedicated internet presence to showcase its services.
