The 6000 members of the American Chemical Society’s Division of Biological Chemistry share the goal of using chemistry to develop a better understanding of biological processes, and to harness these processes for the common good. The objectives of the Division are to promote knowledge and research in the field of biological chemistry.

As one of the technical divisions of the American Chemical Society, the website serves as the official gateway to publicize announcements, newsletters, conference schedules, awards, and postdoctoral openings. During the early part of 2005, the executive board of the ACS Division of Biological Chemistry recognized the need for a fundamental overhaul of the existing website, established in the late 1990′s.
During the the process of concept development, content implementation, and launch/marketing activities, the Division’s secretary, John Richard, relied heavily on Bright Launch’s experts to assist him through the steps.
Based on Bright Launch’s experience, clients want easy-to-use, easy-to-learn, and cost-effective ways of managing and updating their websites. Bright Launch uses a customized content management system (CMS) to give clients a user-friendly solution. The CMS allows them to update content from any web browser. They paste in new text and photos and with just a click of a button, they publish changes instantly, without any knowledge of HTML or other software.
During the next stages, John followed our easy step-by-step tutorial on how to replace placeholder content with his own text, images, and links. Like every other user of CMS, John was amazed how easy it was to update the site, proceeding rapidly through dozens of pages.
