Katharine Posillico McGowan has been involved in the design world for 20 years, beginning her career as a fashion buyer, then a product designer. From there she attended New York School of Interior Design and finally launched her own design firm in 2003. Katharine was recognized by New York Spaces Magazine as one of “10 New Designers to Watch”.

Katharine’s work is characterized by her ability to create beautiful livable environments for today – her attention to detail and ability to mix finishes and textures create subtle elegant spaces that meet her client’s needs. As such, Katharine expected her website to reflect the same qualities.
During initial design meetings, Katharine emphasized her desire for a minimalist design with lots of photography. Bright Launch explored in subsequent sessions other requirements and laid the foundation for search-engine optimization.
Bright Launch’s team delivered a cost-effective communication solution based on its proven track record of advance planning, straightforward implementation and attention to design. In addition, Bright Launch worked with Katharine on a corporate identity system, resulting in business cards and a letterhead.
As is the case with many busy clients, Katharine preferred to conduct most interactions via email and phone – making good use of a password-protected client area showcasing all design iterations.

In our experience, visitors to any website will spend only a split second to form their opinion about a site and – by extension – about an organization. Unless clients conquer that challenge first, visitors won’t even bother to read through much of the text copy, let alone browse around the site to find out about the rest of an organization’s mission and approach.
The good news is that clients have control over shaping that critical first impression – Bright Launch is a strong proponent of creating a well-balanced mix of text content to quality photography that invites readers to browse, glance, and finally start reading.
