Design & Development Overview
Early in 2009, Olivia approached Bright Launch about launching a simple website and blog. As a newcomer to blogging, she was keenly interested to learn how to get started properly, setting up a site that would require little technical knowledge, additional software, or big expenses. Our experts thoroughly explained available options and which features would make her website truly stand apart from other culinary bloggers.
In consultation with Olivia, our developers settled on a state-of-the-art content management system that works with any web browser, from anywhere in the world. The best part: the package was totally free, requiring only a quick setup and configuration by Bright Launch’s technical team.
Olivia felt very strongly about the kind of look she wanted to accomplish for her website, and our designers rapidly translated her ideas into practice. Bright Launch then proceeded to optimize her website for search engines, installing plugins that drive traffic and user engagement.
Throughout this phase, Olivia realized that most software features were incredibly easy-to-use without much of a learning curve – and that the built-in media upload tool made it easy to add images to her blog entries.
More About The Client
Trained at The Culinary Institute of America, Olivia is a Manhattan-based private chef, freelance recipe developer and consultant. In January of 2009, she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease – finally ending years of confusion about why she felt exhausted. Never really suffering from the digestive symptoms most patients experience, Olivia believes that was why her disease went undiagnosed for so long.
For most people, it’s hard to wrap their head around the idea of no more gluten for the rest of their life. For her, as a professional chef, it was almost inconceivable. Food is her thing, her livelihood, her only vice! As a rule, she tried to never deny herself of anything when it came to food. But having already cooked gluten-free for her clients, she knew that she could still eat delicious foods. And that’s what she’s been sharing since on her site.
