How important is the on-page optimization, vs just going out and getting backlinks? I’ve been reading a lot of forums lately, and it seems like as soon as two say one thing, two more say another. For instance, the meta tags, and the descriptions. I read somewhere that Google ignores these, but then I read somewhere else, that they are becoming more and more important.
